Just got the folowing email. Links look good, but the email is a little sloppy, like a phishing attempt. Caps not correct and "??" when contractions are used. I have not clicked any links. So, is this an legit invite?

world of warcraft: Cataclysm Beta Test Invitation!

Get those opt-ins ready for the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm closed beta! The sundering of Azeroth is nigh, and you don??t want to be left out in the cold of Northrend when you could be enjoying the sun-drenched beaches on the goblin isle of Kezan. To ensure you??re opted-in and eligible as a potential candidate, you??ll need a World of Warcraft license attached to your Battle.net account, have your current system specifications uploaded to the Battle.net Beta Profile Settings page, and have expressed interest through the franchise-specific check boxes.

Get the Installer - Log in to your Battle.net account: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account

** IMPORTANT ** To avoid graphical bugs and other technical issues, please ensure your video card drivers are up-to-date.

Enjoy the game!

That's definitely a phishing attempt, Psydon. You can learn tips on identifying fake phishing emails, as well as see many examples, in our sticky on the subject here:

Just look at your battle.net account.

Indeed. You need not ever click a link in a beta invite email. If you have been included in the Cataclysm beta, a new 'game' will have already been added to your Battle.net account. It's best to manually log in at http://us.battle.net/ rather than following provided links to get there.
