Account Compromised by Blizzard

Blizzard suspended my account for:

"Account Action: 3 hour suspension and password reset
Reason for Action: In-Game Chat Policy Violation - Advertisement and Spamming"

E-mail to Tech Support: The suspension occurred at 1:51am PDT. The three hours have passed. Why is my account still suspended? Please advise and thanks.

A side note: This suspension was unwarranted! I am the only user on the account and have never spammed nor purchased from anyone other than Blizzard. Also, have never replied to anyone phishing for information. My only sin has been reporting the "gold sellers" for spamming to GM's. Will be talking to customer service once they get in. Have a lot of money invested here (character transfers) and cannot take this situation lightly. Looking for a definitive response from Blizzard as to why this action was initiated and why I'm the guilty party?

Let me add: Have 50 toons and Blizzard left me 8 (on Exodar), most without gear or bags. Everything at the AH is also gone. My two 80's (on Exodar) are gone as well. However, have to thank Blizzard for sending my 8 remaining toons Core Hound Pups for purchasing an Authenticator.

WE don't compromise accounts, Wimoweh.

I cannot look at the moment, but sounds like you are likely compromised. If there is an authenticator on the account you didn't add, it's for sure you were.

--------------------

If an account has been merged to a Battle.net, or if an email has been changed, or an authenticator added to the account (not the player's own) one of your first stops is going to be Billing. They need to get those sorted out first so the rest of the processes can continue.

Now, it's very very important to figure out where the security breach occurred. If they CAN get back in, they WILL be back. That, unfortunately, you can count on.

These two stickies should prove helpful.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.
