Hey I was wondering if on this realm down that they are doing for the Authentication system will make it to where people that has bought a digital copy of the game will be able to get off of trial version?.I have a 60 day time card on it but my account status is still at trial.I want to be able to log into my trial account that is on locked now.I hope that I do not have to go to a store and get a cd copy of it just to get a cd key and play the game I already payed a lot for this the past few days.$30 for the time card and 20 for the digital copy and if I have to go to a store and buy it just to get a cd key just to get off of trial version that would be a whole $70.00 and some change. When I just bought a digital copy I think that if you buy a digital copy you should be able to use the full game as it is suppose to be used digitly and still have full access to a non trial account even though you do not have a cd key.If anyone knows please let me know

Thanks

Greenstalker, are you referring to the account on which you're currently posting? Is that account the one you recently upgraded online? If so, the temporary trial restrictions you're noting are normal.

When an account is upgraded online, some temporary trial restrictions will remain in place until payment for that upgrade is finalized. These restrictions include, but are not limited to:
    - Inability to trade via the auction house, mailbox, or player-to-player.
    - In-Game public chat channels will be unavailable. (Players will still be able to communicate using say, party, or whispers).
    - Characters will be unable to create or join existing guilds.

Level and profession skill caps will be removed right away, though. :)

These temporary trial restrictions should dissipate within 72 hours of the digital upgrade (give or take), and I'm showing that your posting account was upgraded roughly 24 hours ago.

Apologies for any confusion! And please let me know if you're referring to a different account from your posting account.

Q u o t e:
Both of them my trial account and my one that I upgraded online.

The account on which you are posting on currently was upgraded online on 06/23/2010, so the 72 hour "upgrade" period is still effect.

I'm guessing that your trial account hasn't yet been upgraded, though (online or through a boxed copy). :)

so in order for me to be able to use my trial account one I have to pay $20 online to unlock it or use a box cd key?.If I do decide to do this would I still have to get a time card for that account to be able to be used all the way?.

If you would like to shed the restrictions that are currently enabled on your trial account (I'm assuming your trial account is different from the one on which you are currently posting*) and gain full access to the classic game client, you will indeed need to upgrade it either online or by purchasing a boxed copy.

You don't need to set up a subscription right away, though (this is what the game card would be for). Whenever a trial account upgrades to classic WoW, it receives a free 30-day game credit, so you can wait to set up a subscription on the account for at least a month. After the 10 days of trial time and the 30-day credit expire, though, you will need to start paying the monthly fee in order to retain access to the game client on that account.

(* Since the account on which you're currently posting is already upgraded, it should shed its temporary trial restrictions in about 48 hours. After that, you'll be able to gain access mailboxes, public chat channels, the Auction House, and trade. No additional purchases necessary.)
