I am quite disappointed with the new Real ID system, and here's why. I would LOVE to use this feature, but I can't! I understand that I need to activate this under the "Parental Controls," but there is a problem. When I send a confirmation to my e-mail account, I do not receive it. And yes, I've looked in my spam folder, tried multiple e-mails on multiple sites, and I did not receive an e-mail. I have also posted a ticket two days ago, no dice on a response yet. I have e-mailed blizzard support as well. No dice. I have also tried to call, couldn't get through, too many callers :[
I'm sure a GM will read this :) if so please help

I'm going to quote a few steps for you, Jebby, from a sticky post at the top of this forum. After you've read through them, if they don't resolve your issue or answer your questions, let me know!

Q u o t e:
If you would like to set up Parental Controls, please visit http://us.battle.net/parents to get started.
  • Under “Getting Started is Easy,” click on the “No – Set up Parental Controls Now” option. This will prompt you to enter the “Child’s Battle.net Account Name,” “Child’s Battle.net Account Password,” and the “Parent’s Email Address.”

  • For the child’s Battle.net account and password, enter the credentials for the account on which you wish to enable Parental Controls.

  • Next, enter the parent’s email address, or the address through which you would like to manage Parental Controls. Please ensure that the email address you provide is active and that you have access to it, as the ability to manage Parental Controls will be dependent on this address.

  • Once all information fields are filled, click “Set up Parental Controls.” This will send an email to the parent’s address that will include a link granting access to Parental Controls for the noted child’s account.

If you have already set up Parental Controls, but are unable to log in, please visit https://us.battle.net/account/parental-controls/retrieve.html to generate a recovery email. Please note that this feature will send recovery steps to the email address originally set up to manage Parental Controls. In many cases, this email address and Battle.net account email address will differ, and in the event that you no longer have access to your Parental Controls email, please contact Account Services for assistance (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/contactbilling).

It sounds like Parental Controls were previously established on one of the accounts merged with your Battle.net and, as a result, Real ID is now disabled. If you unable to access the email address originally set up to manage Parental Controls on your account (and so gain access to the recovery email), then you will to contact Account Services. :)

May ask if the Battle.net account on which you're posting is the account for which you're attempting to manage Parental Controls?

I'm showing that a Parental Controls email has indeed been set up for the Battle.net account on which you are currently posting; however, that email is different than one actually registered to the account.

I can help you ensure that the proper email is registered. To do this, I'll need you to click on the forum "Options" button located in the upper right-hand corner of this screen, just under your posting character avatar. Once on the Account Options page, enter in the email you believe you registered for Parental Controls. This email will not be displayed publicly; only you and Blizzard employees will be able to access it. I can then compare that email to one I'm showing as officially registered to Parental Controls on your account.

Willing to do that? :)

Okay, I have entered the email address.

The address you entered does not match the address currently set up to manage Parental Controls, so that is likely why you're not receiving the recovery email.

And that's okay. I'm betting what happened is that you set up Parental Controls some time ago and simply no longer have access to the original address. Fortunately, Account Services can help! Our representatives will be happy to assist you with setting up the right email address so you can properly access all features within the game.
