PLEASE HELP ME

I logged in yesterday to WoW.
Only too see my account password was wrong.
Yes, I have an Authenticator.
The hacker disabled it, though.
I've been able to log in every now and again, but they keep chaning my password.

I have just downloaded these:
Spy Bot Search and Destroy
ESET NOD32 ANTIVIRUS 4
Secunia PSI and;
SpywareBlaster

Apparently, my account was reported for selling/buying items/gold for 'real-life' money:

Here is the e-mail:
"This suspension happened because one or more characters on the account were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for ""real-world"" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy."

I changed my password, I got in. I got kicked out the game. I went to log back in, 'temporarily suspended'

/sigh

Blizzard, I would never do such a thing.

Would I be posting here if I was a hacker?

Can you give me a character name/realm on the account in question?

Well, this does indeed look compromised.

It is in process already, 2 hours ago it was put into the investigation queue.

Now, about this authenticator.

I do indeed show one going on January 27th.

It was also removed from the same party on April 7.

There is not currently - nor has there been an authenticator on this account since April.

Well, where it was being accessed from - and what it was being used for, Orhaé.

As to HOW, that's an excellent question and really no easy answers.

Malware and social engineering, i.e., phishes of various kinds are most common - but there are literally hundreds of ways these guys lie, cheat, steal and trick players out of their information.

I'd start with making sure your system and email are secure. If you use the same password/ID combo anywhere else, that's risky - especially on websites.

This sticky may be useful.

Reports can also be emailed to [email protected] - that email works in a similar fashion to petitions.
