REAL-ID PROBLEM (not another security qq)

I'm not here to bicker about security or not having friends. My only problem with this new system is why do we have to see the person's full last name we are talking to?

My chat box in game is sized relatively so that I can view everything from trade/raid chat with ease but when chatting with my friend the first line and a half are covered by his name.

e.g.
[XXXXXX XXXXXXXXX] Hey man, how's it going tonight? This new Real-Id thing is a real gimmick huh?

I don't need to see my friends last name every time he types something to me... either remove the last name entire or make it an initial.

e.g.
[XXXXXX X.] Wow all of a sudden this Real-Id thing isn't some foolish gimmick anymore! Let me go waste money on a Celestial Steed to thank blizzard!

That is all.

Edit: For the slow ones out there, NO, my chat box is not one line. If you read carefully I am saying the the persons name I am talking to takes up 1 or 2 lines of unnecessary space. Thanks.

I'm just guessing here, but it sounds like this could be something that an addon could potentially help achieve for those that want/need to size their chat window on the smaller side. I did a quick search and didn't find anything but the patch did just come out, so it might be worth keeping an eye out for. Barring that, it's definitely a piece of feedback I'll take with me.
