Well, after having the authenticator removed, and doing 2 full virus (AVG and Malewarebytes) scans, I'm fairly certain it wasn't a keylogger. I think I've narrowed it down to 2 possible explanations as to why my account was hacked.
1. My Adobe flash player/reader was out of date, and apparently the same versions that contained the crucial vulnerability announced around 2 weeks ago. I uninstalled both, and installed the newest version of Flash (10.1), and left reader uninstalled since I read a fix wasn't planned until later this month.
2. Somehow my email address got out there. I had 2 other bnet accounts, and neither one was affected, no authenticator, and looking up the individual characters via armory shows that I haven't logged into any of them in at least a week. If this was the case, I changed my password, opened a brand new gmail account only to be used for this wow account (previously I was on a yahoo account :<), and I'm planning to just buy an authenticator within the next few days.
So now that I'm fairly certain everything is under control, I'm attempting to see if I can have the 72 hour suspension lifted, so I can in the meantime fill out a restoration request to a GM in-game. I've read that the entire process can take 7-10 days, and would prefer if I could start the process sooner than later. However, even if I cannot lift the suspension I still appreciate the service I did receive (I.E. The authenticator removed in a very timely manor).
Finally, since the account I'm posting from is NOT the one infected, I'll link characters on the account (which apparently worked in my other thread; see below)
