What is the possibility of player suggested ideas actually getting thorugh to development?

Subsequently, can these changes make it into the PTR, or into live?

Is there any precedent?

Have movements by players ever had a significant impact on development decisions?

Do the passionate death throes of irritated tanks really influence development of the class?

Is there some interval or percentage, like a popularity poll, that influences what changes are kept and which ones reverted? Or is development simply a bunch of number cruching and number augmenting accordingly?

I've read the responses... you're reading, you're only posting if you have something constructive to say..

But.. do you relate to the common concerns of the player?

Is our mesely common white text at all illustrative of the superior blue associated with Community managers? Could a developer post with purple text?

Is there any part of the process of Forum---->
Feedback----->
CM------->
Development------->
Game---------->
Feedback you can further illuminate on?

In short... are our theory-crafting, talent polishing and ability crunching efforts futile?

I'll reply in short since trying to make a list would take a lot longer than it need to (hey we've had years of doing this ok?)

Feedback by the community is always taken in consideration no matter how briefly. Many points of feedback by the community over the years have resulted in changes being made.

What we look for is that constructive post that makes us go, "Huh, I didn't think of that/know that/that's interesting/yeah we can see the problem" or even "oh good, that's working/they like it/it's doing it's job as we wanted it to" etc.

We've had constructive feedback come in that we've already had on our minds. We've had constructive feedback come in that we've had to sit on for a bit until the mechanics were in place to implement it. We've had constructive feedback come in that we've been able to act on immediately before as well.

We don't call those things out too often, but we try to indicate when we can that, "hey, we heard you, here you go".

Some changes are just easier to implement faster either because the mechanics already exist or we see reason for it to be changed quickly (whether a beloved change or not.) Other changes either are just difficult to make or don't really have a solid reason (yet) for it to be changed. We always reserve the right to change our minds though and are completely OK with saying, "Yep, oops, that didn't work as we wanted it to."

Hi Neth!

I don't suppose we could get a look into the tank mastery changes in the works? Is it to drop the value of mastery or is it to just make it so mastery doesn't hard cap out for paladins? Also, could we get some DK feedback? The issues are all over. I understand the blog PoV that you guys are using right now. However, tank issues never survive those threads. We don't have enough tanks for them to even come close to getting nominated. It makes it feel like tanks are just sort of ignored. Could we get a look into upcoming tank plans? I know paladins and DKs would love to have some more specific answers as to plans for the future.

I can always ask. My day is running a bit short today, but someone will try to get word back to you all when we can.

Communism... they moved the Blood Thread into the tanking forums...

Can the CMs level with me again, do you guys relate information from the Class forums to development?

I was under the impression that posts in class-specific forums were avoided due to bias.

We do relate info from the class forums as well. But, to try to cover as much ground as possible, we still prefer to respond within the role forums more than class forums. We like those forums being used for everyone to share info or discuss their class with each other without us getting in the way too much.

The Blood thread was moved (btw) since it seemed like it may become problematic to put class specific stickies up here. But if it's useful enough here and people agree, it could always make a return.

Told you guys Neth was a friend.

I'll take it. Though I suspect the next time I bring news that is "unpopular" I'll be voted out of the club house again. :(

I was merely trying to condense all of the recent blood threads popping up. I don't think that thread works particularly well for a sticky, and there is already a nice guide for Blood tanking on the DK forums. I appreciate the sticky, but I think it'll work better as a free floating thread over here. :)

I take no blame for any injuries brought about by a free floating Blood thread. Wish granted.
