1. It's a thankless role (get it?)

2. Your damage is lower that a dps and most people would rather start pvping with dps gear/spec than with tanking.

3. It's alot harder than dpsing.

4. The game is designed so if a dps screws up, he can be carried/has time to pick up the pace, a healer can pop some cds and fix an error. If a tank screws up, its usually a wipe.

5. Since its the role you need in lowest numbers (10 man AND 25 man requires 2 tanks, huge guilds have like, 4-6 tanks and 60+ dps?) most people rather play a different role.

6. You are forced to lead the group, wich most of the time means arguing with angry players.



The satchel feels more like a bribe than a solution.
