You should be able to use AddOns, even with a trial account, Thalividone. The content of the files on your computer should be the same, the only difference between a trial account and a full retail account is in the restrictions the account itself holds. If I were to come over to your place and want to log into my account, I would have the ability to make the full use of any of my characters, even on the version you have installed. Likewise, if you were to go to a friend’s to play, you would still encounter the restrictions, as they are account based, not installation based.
