Burning Crusade Direct Online Upgrade Gift?

My friend and i are playing together and we are near level 60, he can't get the game till thursday so i want to get it for him but i don't see anywhere in the store the digital Burning Crusade or gift option in the online upgrade from the battle.net account management

Does this option exist somewhere?

I don't believe that an electronic upgrade to the Burning Crusade expansion is able to be gifted, Krater. The only option I know is to either be there with your friend, have them log in but use your payment information to pay for it or purchase a retail copy of the game and either relay them the CD key or mail it to them.

As long as you are not accessing his account, Krater, you may. I should warn you that our purchasing system may check information based on the upgrading account so your location and your cards billing address may cause an error message to be returned.
