Ninja's in random ques.

Today I had an unfortunate event occur where a greedy druid took a shield from a tank that would be an upgrade because he wanted to sell it.

Is there a way that this can be fixed via GM powers?

Today my friend and I were running BRD in random ques trying to level and we got a decent healer who stuck with us for awhile.

Eventually the (Wall of The Dead) dropped and the tank, being the only person who could use it, needed. Aswell one of the druids from Vashj hit need and won it, and proceeded to tell us of his trade add.

I feel this is a great injustice and it needs to be fixed.

If the item was Bind on Equip, then every player in the run had every right to roll on it. We also do not recognize 'ninja looting' as such, and would qualify this kind of situation as a looting dispute. While I recognize that it can be frustrating in some cases, looting disputes are not the kind of situation in which our staff will intervene. The Need Before Greed system is intended to allow all players in the group to roll on any item they are properly eligible for (including Bind on Equip items), though I am sorry if this was disappointing for your friend. You can learn more about that specific looting method, as well as the others, here:

Everybody Loots: Group Gear and You

If you'd like to see these rolling systems change in the future, you can contribute constructive perspectives on the subject in our Suggestions forum.

Best luck!

You're dreaming. The top post in this thread proves otherwise. By definition, Needing should not be permitted on gear that is not worn by your class.

Hello Radaj. Was it really necessary to insult those who were politely providing accurate information in this thread?

I would be pretty shocked if there were no point at all at which things like "we are seeing a ton of threads and complaints about <X>" were taken into account. Blizzard's way too smart to ignore a useful source of information.

That happens in some cases yes, but I hope you'll agree that information gathering is best accomplished in an organized fashion. Thus, we certainly pay attention to all the threads that come into our forum, but we share information about threads appropriate to this forum, and direct other topics to the best destinations. A piecemeal approach toward information gathering is much less effective.

I mean, that is why we have all these different forums; so that our players can share information--or in the case of the Suggestions forum, share ideas/concerns--in the best and most appropriate way.

Q u o t e:
You keep saying "designed for their class", but again, the topic of the thread is a DRUID rolling Need on a SHIELD.

A Bind on Equip shield that any member of the run could reasonably sell. Also, the Need Before Greed system isn't designed to address issues below a certain level for a variety of reasons.

Still, I understand why you're expressing your concerns. This isn't the most productive place for such a discussion, that's all.
