Account Phished - Please help!

Hey,

This morning I fell to a in game mail scam, I feel like a total idiot. My head was in another place and didn't pay attention to the site. The site was 100% like Battle.net so I thought it was legit, but as soon as I logged in it said "Welcome Greg", which first of all isn't my name and then it asked for my secret question which then I knew 100% my account is GG.

I quickly tried to log into my account on the real Battle.net site which obviously didn't work but I was able to reset my password which did work but when trying to log in game there was already a bloody authenticator setup, like WTF? That was seriously all done within 1-2 minutes, crazy.

I checked out my characters on Armory and yeah nearly all my gear is gone and no doubt all my gold is gone too. I'm so bloody pissed of, I can't believe how dumb I feel right now.

Can Blizzard rep help me out? I can't contact phone support for like another 8 hours as I'm in Australia so they are closed till then.

I pray to god that I can get all my gold back and gear or this will probable make me leave this game, of course it's 100% my fault but yeah, would be to much to recover from.

Thank you,

Matt

See if you can get in, Stantor, that was removed. You may have been quick enough to prevent most damages, but I suspect they did have at least brief access.

Also, if you actually went to a site like that, yes - you were phished, but you may also have had malware placed onto your system. They will do that as well if they can. I'd recommend full system scans.

If you also supplied your email to them, I'd setup another and change that as well once you are certain your system is secure.

If you do find damages, please report those via an ingame petition as soon as possible.

I can now log into my account as the authenticator is now gone, weird?

Half my gear is gone and ALL my gold is gone, oh dear! Can anyone help me please?

You'll need to open a petition and ask this be investigated, that can take some days.

If you see a new level one that you know isn't yours, take a look there. They often funnel proceeds to one character - I think you may have interrupted them before some things got off the account.

##!!! I just deleted a level 1 that was on the server! I didn't check it to see if my gold was there!!!!!

That's ok, just put in a petition so it can get in process. There is likely items that were sold/destroyed that will need to be tended to as well.

Thanks for the help mate.

Just made a ticket but what happens if I'm offline when they reply? Will they still read what I wrote and try get my stuff back, or must I be online?

Cheers.

No need for you to be online for this. This will actually take a few days. The current investigation queue is running just on the high side of 10-ish days at the moment. Please remember, that's right now, that queue can actually go either way fairly quickly.

Sorry one last thing bud. In the ticket I didn't say that my other level 80's got their gold and gear taken too, do I need to put in another ticket to explain or not?

Thanks!

No, we'll look at the whole account. Now, if there is an unrelated account - that would be worth mentioning.
