Mysterious letter

A couple of days ago, my bank alt (this toon) received a letter with 100g, Indestructible Potion x 7, and the message "a little bit of help" or something like that. I naturally assumed that the sender had mistyped the name or used Auto-complete without checking, so I returned the items and the gold. I have plenty of my own, so there's no need to be a jerk about a simple mistake like that.

Today, I got everything returned to me, so I guess it wasn't a mistake. I checked with the only person who knows this alt and it wasn't him. So I definitely don't know the sender. What I'm worried about is that it's "dirty" gold and this person is trying to implicate me in some sort of gold-buying scheme (perhaps an AH competitor who takes this game too seriously).

I own a decent amount of gold across my toons, but it's been made through legit means (mostly auctions, some dailies, etc.). I don't really know what to do about it, other than keep sending it back. Is it possible to find out if this came from a hacked account or a suspicious source?

You're welcome to continue trying to return this to the sender, but it does not look as if this was sent maliciously, Valstrid. Ultimately, the decision on what to do with this mail is entirely up to you. :)
