Forum harassment

Hey Blues,

I'm sure you get posts like this one on a consistent basis but this one kind of struck home with me. I had just come out of a major surgery this week that basically saved my life from Cancer. I'm Cancer free today. I made a post letting people know this on our realm forum rather than tell a lot of players over and over who ask where i am and what i've been doing the last two weeks.

Anyhow, my concern is that a player named <removed> has now made a 2nd post on our realm forum to mock my Cancer. I would appreciate it if you all could delete his forum post because he's doing it to with a purpose to insult me. Even went so far as to say he took a dump on a cigarette in homage to me (because i quit smoking.). If you go on to our realm forum the posts are fairly simple to find: <removed>.

Please help!

Not that I'm saying what they are doing is right, but there are some things you should probably not post on a public wow forum. You're putting some pretty personal stuff out there. You can't expect everyone is going to behave.

First, I want to congratulate you. I'm all too familiar with the emotional trials that this disease can cause, and I'm incredibly happy that you're in recovery. May this all quickly fade in memory's gloom, and your horizons remain bright.

Moojerk's post is wise though. We will certainly do all we can to provide the best possible environment for our forum going population, and we will not stand for harassment. Still, it's also a good idea to restrict sharing personal information to players with whom you have a personal relationship. Otherwise, it's all too easy for a 'troll' to take advantage of the emotionally charged and highly personal nature of the subject matter.

Still, that by no means suggests that we wouldn't treat your reports with the gravity they deserve. Please use the red biohazard button to report any offending posts, and our Moderator staff will be more than happy to investigate. Unfortunately, those of us who act as Customer Service Forum Representatives are not empowered to cross moderate, but your report will be investigated. There is a chance that the entire thread will be removed as well.

Good luck!
