My account was hacked on June 10, 2010 between 2 and 5 AM EST, and gear was stripped, sold, and all gold was gone. Imagine my surprise when I tried logging in and an authenticator was on my account. The authenticator was taken off right away. I have not heard one word from Blizzard on this. A guildy had his account hacked as well, and got his stuff back in 5 hours. What is up with that crap?
I put in a ticket to a GM on same day. Am I suppose to sit idly by for Blizzard to send a response? No word from them at all that investigation is under way. I think 7 days is plenty of time to hear something from them.

Q u o t e:

Actually, the restoration queue is currently taking about 10 days. It's been under 24 hours in the past (some months back), but more in the 10 day range now for a while. However, certain aspects of the way the compromise occurred, when it was interrupted, and the like, can make that time vary considerably.

Blizzard doesn't usually send any updates on the progress after the initial ticket you submit is escalated. If they were to start doing so, it would add several minutes for every single account in the queue and increase the wait time dramatically. Instead, you're not likely to hear until the restoration is underway and items are being mailed to you.

Well and rather completely stated Eilethalua!

It can't hurt for anyone affected by an account compromise to check out our sticky on the subject either, since it contains excellent information regarding account security as well:
