With no control over a pet, if you attack a target dummy your pet will continue to attack it unless you run out of range to despawn it. As a side effect, it puts you into combat and you cannot logout without using ALT+F4.
Probably a real annoyance for new hunters and warlocks. Especially since the training dummies are 10 feet from the human starting area. Not knowing how to stop your pet and having to ALT+F4 to exit WoW. :)
