Path of the Titans removed? Acheology?

I was reading the IGN preview and saw that Blizzard has chosen to remove path of the titans? Will this be a major set back and delay Cata?

I have a question though.. why does Blizzard keep trying to remove the cookie cutter builds from the game? That will never happen because of how the game is designed, there will always be that one build that out DPSes the other builds no matter what, even designing fights where MAYBE one spec will out DPS another spec, people will still choose the spec that does the most DMG in the majority of the fights, and with dual spec, they will just spec into the second one in a fight where they might need it.. now I read they're trying to change their glyph system, it will be the same exact thing, there will be two or three major glyphs that everybody will get which will be the better one, and in the end minor glyphs are pretty useless (minor duh) that ppl usually get only 1 or two which everybody gets.. the only thing they can do probably is make every spec pretty much equal, but then you kind of remove variety..

what's up with archeology too now, i was reading it will just be a secondry "fun" profession for the casual gamer, or quoting IGN, "it is now a profession more keyed towards the casual player base. It functions as a collectible meta-game that rewards players with mostly cosmetic items."

I know Cata is still months away, just wanted to see about these changes

I think these are your questions...? There was a lot of rambling so I tried to pick them out.

Anyway, removing Path of the Titans won't be a major set back that delays Cataclysm. You can't delay something that has no release date. We realized that the system was getting overly complex when designing it so while we were simplifying it, it worked out better to improve the glyph system.

As far as the cookie-cutter builds, we always aim to provide as much variety as possible. A lot of players prefer to play certain ways but feel they can't because the other spec is dominant. While it is likely one type will always come out ahead, if it's ahead by only a small margin, a lot of players won't feel so bad about taking it and sometimes their skill will allow them to come out ahead anyway.

Regarding the whole being able to learn a glyph once and switch it in and out, how is inscription going to make any money?

Probably need help to learn it the first time...? I'm not really sure at this point as things are still be designed and once we have them more locked down we can answer something like this.

Any idea on how many medium glyph slots we will be allotted? Will we also get another minor/major slot with the extra 5 levels?

Not yet. Same reason.

'Too complex'? Do you mean like animating new dances 'too complex' or 'we think it's too complex for the player' 'too complex'?

The latter.
