Exploiting the AH?

They are playing the AH. That is what some players do. I will undercut others as well and take things down and re-undercut them. That way, I sell my items first. That is because I want my gold before them. Does that mean I am exploiting a free market? No, it means I am using the tools that are available to me to earn gold.

Q u o t e:
I have an issue on my server with how someone is using the AH. I am a JC and have noticed lately that whenever I up a gem on, this particular person would undercut me. This in itself it not the issue. What I began to notice over the past week is that this person has at least 5 gems up for every cut, epic and blue, and also many uncut gems.

when I put a gem on, they will automatically take all theirs down in that cut and put them back up lower than me. So I experimented by taking mine back down and putting it back up even lower. They did it again. I don't put many gems up and am used to getting undercut, sometimes I do it, sometimes they do it. I get it. This, however, has gone beyond that. I see them do it to anyone who tries to put a gems up. I watched it over the weekend when I had time, they were on all day and did this non-stop. I put some on this morning, went home for lunch, they were on and undercut me on all (I had put one single gem up in 5 different blue cuts). They undercut by putting all the gems back on.

What does this mean to me? Well, like anyone, i'm trying to make a few golds off the AH. I am not trying to run it. But when this person undercuts my one gem every single time I put one on with his/her 5 gems it makes it so anyone looking will automatically buy theirs and never even get to mine. Gems are not exactly flying off the AH these days.

My question is, is this any violation of the ToS? I can't find it anywhere but feel like it might be. This person is making it so no JC's can sell anything as they seem to have the time to do this all day, constantly take gems off and put them on. I feel like this is unfair to anyone else.

Thoughts?

Assuming that no other form of exploitation is taking place, the Auction House is a free market and this player is entitled to undercut anyone that he likes (though I recognize that can be frustrating).

On the other hand, you seem to be concerned that some form of automation is taking place. If that is the nature of your concern, then you can report that situation via an in-game petition, or send the name and realm of the player in question and an explanation via email to wowgm@blizzard.com, and our staff will investigate.
