Has anyone gotten any success with this?

Ran a PUG ICC15 where the loot rules were MS > OS. Class needs before anything else basically.

One the first run at Morrow, the leather boots dropped. Fantastic as I been waiting for it for 4 mth, I rolled and lo'behold.. a hunter rolled. Sadly, the raid leader did not check class and pass it to a hunter.

Not a problem, there's decent people around and after I told the raid leader of the mistake, he asked the hunter to pass it to me. Actually, the whole raid told him to pass it to me, to which he replied 'Nope, this leather is BiS for me, I am not passing'

After much debate, he said he will wait till the next boss and from there onwards, it was 'Why you want to wear it when the crafted leather is better. ' 'Don't you know you will loose hit rating' etc etc..

He had absolutely no intention to pass it and in anger I left.

I later spoke with the raid leader and he told me he will ticket the mistake he made and asked for the boots to me moved across and I will ticket it.

FANTASTIC - a ticket by the raid leader saying he's made a mistake and since the hunter was not entitle to the loot, perhaps Bliz will look at it as ninja. Maybe.

WRONG.

I eventually got an answer saying they will look into it.. and got a GM to talk to me, after I told him again what has happen.. this is what he said ..
"I am sorry but there is nothing we can do, perhaps you can asked the player nicely to ticket for the boots back to you?"

I was like ... wait, wait, did I explained my position right, the raid leader admit to the mistake, this is a ninja situation and this GM is saying, if I asked nicely, the ninja'er will give me the boots back?

Sadly, it was another "We can't do anything.. we set the policy but good luck in getting us to enforce it." and "have a good day."

Why bother... seriously, Blizzard - why bother with the ninja policy? Did someone get so bored up there that they decided to 'make' a NATO policy only to laugh at the honest players of your game... ?

Has anyone else had any situation where Bliz will point at the littlest 'clause' to get out from enforcing their 'ninja' policy.. ?

I understand that you are frustrated, and I'm sorry to see it. Based purely on what you've stated, what you are discussing here is a classic 'looting dispute'; not ninja looting, nor a loot scam. The player in question rolled because they felt that the item in question was an excellent addition to their DPS set. They won, and the Master Looter awarded it to them. It seems that you are interpreting MS>OS to mean 'class needs before anything else', when in reality, that isn't necessarily inferred at all. If anything, that suggests to me 'role needs supercede other concerns'. Regardless, those are very vague loot rules, and it may be in your best interest to press for more detailed rules in the future; or to run with guild members and friends with whom such conflicts of opinion will not occur.

I understand your perspective though - after all, I'm intimately familiar with the age old conflict between Rogues and Hunters over excellent leather dps pieces. I'm afraid that this isn't the kind of situation that our staff is likely to interfere with though. If you'd like to review our policy on the subject again, you can do so here:
