Will transferring effect my item restoration?

My account was compromised on Wednesday and a number of my items / all of my gold was taken. I submitted a ticket that same day and was told the restoration investigation would take roughly 10 days. If I were to transfer realms (looking to go play with a new Arena team) would this negatively effect the investigation?

As your fellow posters have noted, Bancs, if you are still awaiting a restoration following an account compromise, it's best to refrain from transferring your characters or changing any of their factions until that restoration is complete. While our In-Game Support staff is very skilled at providing restorations even under unique circumstances, the changes a character undergoes during a transfer or faction change are pretty substantial and may create complications.

Just in case you might not know, when a character is transferred, it's doesn't actually get moved off one realm and then placed on another. (It's not like packing up a terran barracks unit, for example, and then flying it across a map to an expansion.) Instead, a copy of your character is made on its new realm. Once this copy is complete and playable, the "old" version of your character, the one on its original realm, is deleted. A similar process occurs during a faction change; however, the new copy of the character will be adjusted in certain ways to match its new faction. As a result, since there's copies and deletions involved, the restoration process can be notably impacted by these two types of character services.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you've any further questions, though. :)
