Q u o t e:
I was hacked like many others involving someone putting an unauthorized authenticator on my account. Well now I have got the authenticator off, but they messed with my email adress and password to log in.
I'm sorry to hear that your account was compromised, but I feel it necessary to point out that this isn't a 'mass compromise', and the addition of an Authenticator is merely a tactic common to the myriad different agencies responsible for account compromise scenarios.
I understand how very distressing and frustrating this kind of situation can be. Your best first step is to remain calm, and take the necessary steps to secure your system and account. We have links posted in this thread which can provide step by step guidance along the path to doing that, as well as recovering your account:
Account Hacked? Security Issue? Look Here! http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=24702231244&sid=1 After you've successfully reacquired control of your account and reported the compromise, you should receive an email to let you know that we're investigating. After you get that email, you can expect your restoration to take about a week and a half or so, though this estimate is very rough and subject to change. Also, while restorations aren't guaranteed, you can be sure that our staff will do everything they can to get you back on your feet and playing with as complete a restoration as possible.
Good luck, and if you have any further questions after reading the articles in that sticky, please let us know.
