We are currently tracking about 10-15 days , based on some of the internal estimates and the responses we've been seeing on the forums. So I'm optimistic you're coming down the home stretch. It could run longer, so bear in mind this is a best-guess window.

Since the biggest single issue affecting the recovery queue (unsurprisingly) is account compromise, I urge everyone reading this to remind your guildmates, friends, and family of the importance of computer and login information security. As the theft victims on this forum know firsthand, it's not just newbies getting accounts stolen these days. It's an epidemic affecting many thousands of users each week.

Generally the 10-15 day estimate would be start-to-finish from the date you sent your request in to our support staff. Again, this is just an estimate-- please don't come back yelling if you hit day 16 (though hopefully we can beat the current ETA instead).

Musou-- the expiration of your game time will not affect the timeline or extent of the restoration-- have no fear. =)

Thanks everyone for your understanding as we work through an inordinate number of tickets. The wait time is far outside our goals, so our support teams are working on several initiatives to get through restorations faster (without sacrificing accuracy), and bring the turnaround to a point that everyone will be happier with.

As though the threads on this forum weren't a big enough illustration of the scope of account compromises, I'd add that we broke an all-time high record for account thefts in May, and then shattered that record again by a wide margin in June.

We may eventually go into more specific detail about the number and extent of the account thefts we see, but first want to ensure we make it a productive discussion. For now, suffice to say the problem is enormous. =(
