One of my close friends recently got his account closed for account sharing. Before you guys make any judgements, here are the facts:
- He had 2 accounts... Both under his name. One for him and the other for his wife.
- On his account, he played 100% of it, noone else even touched it
- On his wife's account, sometimes he would let his little cousin play (the cousin is a child and is just is trying it out)
-He does not hack, power level, curse, buy gold or anything else...and has never received a ban before.
This guy is a honest family man...and just yesterday he got an email saying they closed his account that was being shared and ALL associated accounts.
I understand it might have been against the TOS for the wife to share her account like that, but it seems WAY TOO HARSH to close both accounts like that on the first offense. Especially when one of the accounts was played 100% by the owner.
Considering it takes hundreds of hours to level a character up to 70 (both accounts had 1 level 70) this just seems totally unfair and unreasonable on Blizzard's part. Especially when we are talking about family members here...it's a technicality at best.
Please do not tell me that my friend and his wife's account are both gone. Please help!
