Patch Notes - !?!?

I finally managed to drown out the ever loudening voice of reason and have briefly swept over the patch notes with a proverbial glance.

A few of the patch notes peaked my interest to say the least, and more often than not, the changes that did "arouse" some sense of excitement were (admittedly) some of the more daring changes.

Here are a few that I thought were almost hidden amongst the jumble of numbers and fibs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Creature AI has been changed to no longer prioritize attacking unfeared targets over feared targets."
Yay repair bills!

"The Requirement for Heroic Keys has been lowered to Honored."

Awesome! I feel so ripped off... I smile because ive died inside, just a little.

"All old world dungeon bosses have had their loot revisited. Players will now find that the loot dropped
inside instances will be of Superior quality."

This one REALLY caught my attention... any word on the changes? Prey do tell, shall we once
again grace UBRS with our level 70s? That poor soul Rend hasnt had anyone to fight for about 8
months now.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

And these are just a few highlights.
Anyone have anything theyve spotted thats being played down by blizzard as "no big deal" like there 1 hour wait on AH items?

Cheers fellas,

I'm just a tad confused as to what you see as being bad in anything you noted above.

Currently, if you resist a fear, mobs could go right after you over anyone else. This isn't so bad if you are a class that can take the hits, but (for example) for Priests with Unbreakable Will, this could be a real issue in PvE situations if they resisted.

The requirement for getting into Heroics is a much better thing than you may think. We've been happy with how this system has worked, but now we are seeing more people running alt characters through these same areas, and feel that it's appropriate to lower this requirement. You haven't been ripped off. You've been given a bit of a leg up.

Superior quality means that they are blue items now. This will help those that are leveling up to get some slightly better items for their ascent to becoming the Heroes we know everyone can be. (Or maybe in becoming the Villains they want to be depending.) If you want to go back in as a level 70, that's fine, but it's doubtful you're going to get more out of it than you would as an appropriate level character going through those dungeons.

Nothing is being played down as "No big deal". We are still working on patch 2.3 and that is why it's on the Test realm. Nothing is being hidden and everything is there for the testing. We'll continue adding to the patch notes as more things are added as well.

Did you notice the new sorting ability noted for Auction Houses? Or how about the ability to run longer Auctions? Or maybe, you might like that it's easier to find certain NPCs by using the mini-map. How about that nice warm glow around items for quests?

There are many positive changes and implementations in this patch. Take some time to test them on the test realm when you have the chance.

Patch 2.3 = good stuff all around, even with the priest survivability nerf.

There, I said it. :)

Who are you and what did you do with Meiaa?? *shifty eyes*

This patch is just the start of this game turning care bear. They already said they will make it easier to get to 70, now anyone can go get all heroic keys much easier then before. Then the new xpack will be out so all the skilless can level to 80 and go in kara. This combined with the nerfs to classes takes all the skill out of the game .

I plan to change my name to Waxlight Bear to go with the more carebear friendly atmosphere.

Oooooor we could just be trying to find ways to help people get up into the upper levels to play with their friends in a way that is still fun and interesting. Thus many of the changes added to Dustwallow Marsh.

See post above. Any PTR tester with screenshots proves beyond any doubt that the melee range has not been changed. There are zero (0), none, nada, nichts screenshots showing any change… because there has been no change.

Melee range has not changed. This poster is correct in their findings- http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=2509264624&sid=1

Any chance mages might still be changed for 2.3 or 2.4? You know so we're no longer the worst balanced class in the game with the lowest surviability and sub par dps and near useless utility in both pve and pvp?

There is always a possibility for more changes to be added into 2.3. We haven't even begun to talk about what all will be in 2.4 either. That said, I couldn't answer for you whether or not there are specific changes for mages in the works right now since everything that is known about the current changes has been updated in the patch notes as of yesterday.

Should there be more changes or additions, you will see them in the patch notes.

Which patch notes. The website, Hortus' list stickied in the PTR Forum or the notes that came with the patch. There are issues that differ in each of these versions.

The website should have the most current version of the notes. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/test-realm-patchnotes.html Hortus also posts the most current notes and updates on the PTR as he can. The post he made yesterday is the most recent version.

Try it now. The "l" fell off the html and I had to scoop it up off the floor and put it back with super glue.

That worked, but the notes have the same error in the text that I noted just above you next to last post.

"Judgement of Light: The combat log will now show the mana gained from rank 5 of this ability as Judgement of Light instead of Seal of Light. "

Judgement of Light doesn't return mana.

Edited for capitalization.

It's an error. It is being updated to read properly as health and is not mana.

I'm pretty sure they meant boss loot. The greens will flood in off trash mobs like always.

This is correct. This change affects the bosses.

Hello Neth!

I have a simple question. If you are intending to give a break to alts, wouldn't it be a good idea to only allow alts on the account of a main who attained the keys the hard way to get the keys the easy way? It's a win win situation for everyone who needs a break, but it won't allow first timers a free ride. What do you think?

I understand what you are saying, but, this is a something we can do now very easily for this patch. Whether we see an evolution a bit further for these sorts of things in the future, I couldn't say. We're always looking to find ways to improve it though so that we maximize how fair it is for everyone.

I haven't the slightest idea.
