Recruit-a-friend question

Hello!

My friend has had a WoW account for a long time and just activated it yesterday and has paid for a standard account. Today I sent him a referral for the "RoF program" (cause he forgot about the extra goodies he can get). My account says he is linked under referrals for the 10 day free trial.

When he upgrades to a standard account will he be charged twice?
Is there a way to avoid double charges?

As Maridian indicated, Juliejules, an old account can not have a Recruit a Friend link retroactively applied, this is a promotion for the creation of new accounts. Your friend used the link to create a Recruit a Friend trial account. If you both wish to receive the benefits from the RaF program he may upgrade that account though that would mean if he keeps his main account active he could potentially have two active subscriptions.

Many veteran players who opt to use the Recruit a Friend promotion create and level a character or characters on the RaF account during the linked period and then use the Paid Character Transfer service to transfer the characters to their main account. That may be an option.

More information on the Recruit a Friend promotion can be found in the FAQ's below.
