i received an ingame whisp today, claiming to be from a blizzard employee stating my account had been chosen to participate in beta testing of cataclysm, and to go to a website (i wont post the website name) but it appeared to be geniune
i went to the website, and i was first presented with the warcraft account login page that always appears when we go to the warcraft website for account management. appon entering my account details i was taken to the cataclysm advertising page.
i was just playing warcraft and was disconnected, and when i went to log back in i was asked for an authenticator code, which i do not own.
thinking i had been hacked i proceded to change my battlenet account password, but it is still asking for an authenticator. i am unsure what to do next, as it is after hours. and friends are saying my characters are logging and out, and i am concerned they are cleaning out my toons.

I answered you in the other thread.

And yes, that was a scam, if WE every message you ingame - we will ALWAYS have a blue Blizzard logo by our name.

We also don't send you to sites that aren't ours.

Indeed, the instructions below will guide you through this process.

Now, it's very very important to figure out where the security breach occurred. If they CAN get back in, they WILL be back. That, unfortunately, you can count on.

These two stickies should prove helpful.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.
