Five months, no new content. Tick Tock.

Kinda makes you feel like you should not have rushed the tiers so much in this expansion, doesn't it, Blizzard? So much for "We will not repeat the mistake of The Burning Crusade".

To the rest of us, lets sit tight and muscle through another 5 months of ICC. I mean, it never gets old, does it?

There are quite a few things to do in the game at current and we've been working hard to ready our next content patch as well as the next expansion. We're not into pushing out content simply to say, "Here, happy now?" We want to make sure that whatever we're getting out to you is the best it can be.

I'm always interested in seeing what sorts of things people are doing during their time now. I know there are many guilds and groups that are still trying to work on the Lich King, but there are many others that are looking at other aspects of the game and doing those. Perhaps you haven't gotten all the Achievements you've wanted. Perhaps you haven't gotten all the mounts and pets you could get as of yet. Perhaps there are quests you haven't ever done before.

Now's a really good time to do all those things that perhaps you hadn't done before. Take a tour of Azeroth again. Get together with friends and do some off the wall events. Head into the Battlegrounds and hone your PvP skills. Run events for your realm such as duels in the arena in Stranglethorn Vale. (One of my favorite types of events.) Get a city raid together. Level a new character with friends or set up a leveling race with your friends.

There are a wealth of things to do in the game still prior to Cataclysm. I'm hoping many others will share what they're doing either to spend their time now or "prepare" for Cataclysm.

In the end, we can only provide the playground and some activities within it, it's up to you to figure out what you want to do in it, with it, and beyond. Feeding out a bunch of ill-conceived content isn't going to alleviate your desire for having something new to do and we'd rather work on creating something new and great than something mediocre at best.

I guess I'm wasting my time. I said there is no new content and it is bad. People started assuming I'm bored, I have nothing to do, etc etc. Personal attack after personal attack. Apparently, I can't complain about something which doesn't personally affect me. This is news, but whatever, I get the point.

I agree that the personal attacks from both ends are unnecessary. I'd strongly suggest they stop.

That said though, constructive feedback is always welcome. I understand that what you're saying is that whether or not there is more current content available for you to take part in and experience, it's "Old" because it's been around awhile and you're looking for something new and inspiring.

What everyone else is saying is, while it may seem like "old" content to you, you haven't experienced it, so the experience could still give you that minty "new" freshness you're looking for.

What I'm saying is, we have a new content patch coming "soon" and after that, an awful lot of "new" in the expansion to share with you that I'm sure you'll love getting to see. Until then though, I can't tell you that we're going to meet your immediate expectations if what you're looking for is something completely new and unseen before. While we might love to be able to give you and everyone else everything they've ever wanted, we have to be careful, plan, figure out the resources and put together what works the best for the health of the game overall and its future.

Nethaera, I'm not sure if you're still going to be reading the thread, or if you are reading the thread then whether you can tell us this, or even if it's been decided - but will there be a "Cataclysm" patch with the new gameplay mechanics and things significantly before Cataclysm hits?

The BC patch added a lot of life to the game for many of us, and if Cataclysm had a (significantly earlier than Cata itself) patch that did things like changed the badges to points, had talent updates and revitalised the PvP system then that'd go a long way towards keeping the game fun and fresh.

I'm still reading. We'll be sharing more information on what will be coming specifically with the patch prior to the release of Cataclysm a bit later, but you can expect the process to be similar to that of the release of Wrath of the Lich King in which we patched in a lot of content prior and then released the expansion portion itself.
