★Solved, thank you★

(This might be a technical Issue, but I'm not sure. It feels like it should go here)

After entering my account name, password, and authenticator code, the game tells me the information is invalid. I tried logging into battle.net and got the same thing.

I went to retrieve my password and I entered all the correct information (I checked by entering incorrect information and it wouldn't let me continue). It said a confirmation email was sent but I haven't received anything yet. It has been at least an hour since I sent the first email-change request thinggy. Maybe I'm not giving it enough time, but I always thought those kinds of things were fairly instant

Anyways, I know I haven't been hacked. First of all, I do have an authenticator. Secondly, a guildy told me i was last logged on a day ago (which is true), my gear is intact, and both of my personal guild banks haven't been touched.

A quick response would be appreciated. I don't want to panic!

I tried restarting my computer but there's no way to restart a physical authenticator!

Didn't fix it though. I'll continue to be patient. I don't want to have to remove my authenticator. That'll be a last-resort kind of thing.

Please do NOT remove that, Seplaverta. Matter of fact, I think that little jewel has likely saved you a compromise. Looks like a malicious foreign source attempted to reset your password on 6/6.

I'd strongly urge you to do malware sweeps of your system and make certain your email is secure (and they haven't put a forwarding on it).

I see a few password resets after that - including the last one that looks a bit odd. Did you request that from another system?

What I think has happened is they changed your password and too many tries locked you out.

Please check your email for a new password that should be coming through shortly and see if that will work for you.

Again, I do NOT recommend you remove that authenticator, I think it just did it's job :)

Yea I had a friend try to reset it to see if it was some kind of computer issue. But I'll see if this new password works, thank you very much :)

I'd go over this sticky carefully.

While they couldn't actually get in because you were protected with an authenticator - to have asked that reset be done, they have far more information than they should.

If malware is present on your system, far more than your WoW account may be at risk. That's not the only thing these guys will steal if given an opportunity.

Well the request was done over the phone so I could give him the authenticator codes and stuff. He couldn't have compromised my account because he has no access to my authenticator unless I give it to him or tell him the code since it's literally with me at all times.

Unless that's not what you were talking about.

I'm talking about the reset from another country on 6/6 - which I suspect is what started this.
