GM's and Trade Chat

I'm just curious....is there any particular reason why I've been putting up with trade chat being a cyber sex chatroom for the past week, when there are blizzard GM's floating around the game, supposedly cleaning this stuff up? I'm assuming the answer is that they are busy dealing with personal player issues, and thats fine. Don't get me wrong, I'm a long-time WoW player and I'm not ragging, but I'm just curious if anyone has any idea why this goes on endlessly without much GM interception.

I think you may have been misinformed on the role Game Masters have in-game, and the way they deal with violations of policy, Kamaji. We are not a force that is out patrolling each chat channel on each faction of every realm; all 200+ of them. Rather we rely on you, our players, to report violations of policy so that we can investigate the situation and take action accordingly.

If you bear witness to inappropriate behavior, it is up to you to ensure it is brought to our attention. Yes, it may take time for us to investigate the situation, but our logs are very extensive and we are able to review a situation well after it has occurred. Also, please note that you won’t always be able to see the repercussions taken, as we do have a system in place to educate our players. Remember that the primary function of our In-Game Policies is to ensure that players who are currently in the game can enjoy the experience to its full potential.
