Tired of getting wispered spam

While there's no built in method to prevent other players from whispering you by default, please feel free to use the right-click Report Spam option when you encounter these whispers. This helps us because it submits an immediate report for us to investigate regarding spam or malicious advertising, it can help your fellow players by getting these advertisers out of the game, and it can help you because it not only immediately (though temporarily) ignores the player in question, but also ignores all characters on the offending account until you relog. You can access it by simply right-clicking the character's name in the chat window next to the line of offending dialogue.

There may be players on our UI & Macros forum who can furnish useful advice regarding an Addon which could help you achieve your goal of avoiding whispers from strangers to begin with though!
