I purchased one of the Blizzard Authenticators and im wondering...what happens when the battery runs out?
Would I have to take it apart and replace the battery or what?

No, it would be necessary to replace your Authenticator. Fortunately, the batteries they come with are designed to last a very, very long time.

Also, to ease the removal of your Authenticator in the event of any mishaps, it is always a good idea to write down your Authenticator serial number and put it in a safe place. That goes for Mobile Authenticator apps as well!

He's not being paranoid. Someone posts in this forum every other day about their authenticator dying, and that's why they only have a warranty of two months. It was a legitimate question.

Actually, Authenticator failures are surpassingly rare; I personally have not seen a post involving one that simply stopped working. I have heard of cases where a device de-synced though, but that is fairly easily resolved. The majority of the threads in this forum involving Authenticators involve lost physical tokens, or mobile devices with Mobile Authenticators where the software was lost due to a reset or something of that nature. All of those issues are relatively swiftly dealt with if the serial number is available though.
