Cannot make Death Knight in WOTLK

i just got my first char to level 55 and I wanted to try and play a Death Knight. I have the expansion, but it is still not letting me create the char in the home screen. Also, I do not have 'the burning crusade'... Do i need that? or was that included in the WOTLK expansion that I bought.

I can only see one upgrade, Borat, that would be from a trial to a standard vanilla account. Did you purchase the Wrath of the Lich King expansion in a retail store?

You may use the Wrath of the Lich King client without having it enabled on your account, that will not allow you to access Wrath of the Lich King areas though.

You will need the Burning Crusade expansion enabled before you will be able to enable the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Borat. You may do so by purchasing the upgrade online or by picking up a retail copy.

When you have a physical expansion you will need to use the unique unused CD Key located within the retail copy to upgrade your account. You may do so by selecting Manage Game on your Account Management page then selecting upgrade account. Once you have done that you will have the option to upgrade using the CD key by selecting "I already have a CD-Key" or by purchasing it online by clicking the option "I do not have a CD-Key".
