Game Card already used!?

Earlier today, I bought a 60 Day game card from my local Gamestop. I brought it home intent to add it to a linked account so I can play longer with my roommate and get the free 1 month and flying rocket.
Anyway, I log in Account Management, select the proper account to add it to, but when I went to add it, it said that the code was already used!
The box that held it was sealed like usual and the scratching part was not removed. So, how has it already been used?

I already sent an e-mail to Account Management/Support, but I figured I'd ask here, maybe get a general idea on what might happen and see if this has happened to anyone else and what happened to them. Can someone please help?

I was just about to ask which account you may have applied it to so I could check.
