RP server naming conventions and ToU

My toon was recently flagged, a renaming required. I received no notice from Blizzard ingame or out, and was never spoken to by a GM regarding the situation. This came on the heels of my reporting threats made to me by another player (OOC ones, mind you. IC ones are lulz. Real life? Not so funny.), so I feel it might have been done in retaliation. (On a side note, the WoWwiki page for Bella was also vandalized this week. That matter was dealt with by their administrators resulting in an IP ban of the vandal.)

Bells has been around for a few years on SoE, and I've never had an issue with the name before (even though some who don't understand where her self-chosen name originates might balk at the non-Sin'dorei nomenclature).

I looked at the Terms of Use and the name doesn't violate anything. Additionally, there are valid RP reasons for her to bear her moniker. I have a ticket open now, still awaiting word from a GM. However, I'm wondering what the precise actions are in such a case as this.

Is it customary for Blizzard to just flag for a rename, not speaking to the toon's player even when I was online when it occurred? And since this came on the heels of a harassment complaint made by me, is it possible that an issue of retaliation can be brought forward to a GM and will be dealt with accordingly?

I appreciate your time and help on this. :)

Thanks!

It does look like an e-mail was intended to be sent, Bellamuerte, but something may have happened to prevent its sending. I am very sorry for what confusion that may have caused.

It does appear that your issue has been reviewed though and an in-game mail sent with the results. :)

I feel one point of clarification is important, this had nothing to do with any prior report you may have had. Sometimes someone simply thinks a name is not appropriate for the realm so they report it. Upon initial review it was thought that the name may not fit within the genre so it was flagged for a rename, further review determined otherwise.

Good luck to you.
