Time Zones and Scheduled maintenance

Usually when maintenance occurs at 5 am PDT, I can play from 6 am til 8 am EST on Bronzebeard after I get up and before I go to work. I think the server upgrades are a great idea. I'm just wondering if your maintenance guys can tell time. Because 5 am PDT on Bronzebeard (which is located in California), translates into 8 am EST here in South Carolina. It's a little after 6 am here and Bronzebeard is offline. This means it would be a little after 3 am in California. NOT 5 am PDT as stated on the login page.

So can your team not tell time or did they just decide to take the realm down earlier than what Blizz posted?

It's much needed and will hopefully ensure a much more stable server for when Cata hits as compared to how things were when Wrath hit.

I will re-phrase what I said initially so you can better understand it: According to the login page maintenance server schedule Bronzebeard is scheduled to go down at 5 am PDT, which would be 8 am EST where I live. It's a little after 6 am here, which means it would be a little after 3am where the Bronzebeard server is located in Santa Barbara , CA. The maintenance times are server times, not my time as people from different states and or countries play on BB and may be in completely different time zones than what the server is located on.

So they took the server down 2 hours earlier than what they said they would. THAT is my complaint.

The ones on that particular list started earlier, Jak.
