Q u o t e:

Unfortunately, yes. You've almost certainly been compromised =(.
At this point, your best bet is to review our sticky here to get a step by step guide on how to set about securing your system, and then recovering your account:
Account Hacked? Security Issue? Look Here! http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=24702231244&sid=1 I know that this is probably a stressful and upsetting time for you. Just as a note, there are three methods you can use to get that Authenticator removed; you can call our Account Services staff directly, you can email
[email protected], and you can also create a post on our Technical Support forum to explicitly request assistance removing an unauthorized authenticator. Q u o t e:
Vent has nothing to do with the hacks.
This is correct. Unless you've provided your account information to someone else via ventrilo, it shouldn't have anything to do with your compromise. There are many other methods of ingress, and phishing is a very common cause.
If your scans aren't finding anything, then you may want to get advice from others regarding which scans you can install and perform that do not conflict - many popular anti-virus suites do not detect keyloggers and other forms of spyware, for example. It's also a good idea to have your World of Warcraft client open and with false information typed into the fields (
NOT your actual username and password). Some malware 'hides' until those conditions are fulfilled.
