...and still I've never even seen it drop.

Look, "QQ, cry more, abloo bloo" whatever, can I just get a basic explanation as to why an epic helm appears to have a higher drop rate than a blue non-combat pet? Why was the Wolpertinger so refereshingly easy to get and this pet is a throwback to the days of running Stratholme for Tier 0?

This thing affects class balance in no way. It gives no sort of advantage over any player or mob. Is there maybe the teensiest chance Blizzard that you could see your way clear to just bump up the drop rate to 5%? Dare I ask, 10%?

I have put in a ridiculous amount of time trying to get this thing and if it were just me having this issue, I'd just chalk it up to my horrid luck with drop rates, but so many others in my guild and even on this board have killed this boss an insane number of times and have yet to see the pet drop, let alone win it.

On a positive note, I will say that I do enjoy the idea of making old seem new again by fighting new bosses in old instances. I hope this trend continues. God help me, I kind of miss Stratholme.

Some non-combat pets are meant to be rare. It’s not easy to find a dark whelping or get exalted with Sporeggar for the new reward there in 2.3, but when you see somebody with one of these, you know it’s a special one.

Don't forget that an Azure Whelp pet will also drop in patch 2.3 from the blue dragonkin in Azshara... for any and all dragon collectors. :)

I've done the Headless Horseman about 45 times, I've seen the plate helm twice, the cloth helm about 5 times, and none of the pet. It's just the way things roll... pun intended.
