One I use to play my characters. The other I use to camp the AH and buy/sell glyphs, gems, epics, etc.
I was on tonight making glyphs and checking the AH when my AH account was disconnected. I tried to log back in but my password wouldn't work. I tried several more times, password wouldn't work.
I checked my e-mail and there was a e-mail from blizzard
Battle.net Account - Password Reset
We have reset the password for the Battle.net account associated with this email address. To choose a new password, please click the following link and follow the instructions:
This got me really suspicious. So I went to official WoW website and sure enough password didn't work still. Reset through there. Now I have access to both accounts again, but when I try to log on to my auction house account it says it's been banned.
I got another e-mail from Blizzard a few minutes later saying that I have a 72 hour ban for exploiting the economy.
Now my main concern is that I hope my account was not compromised. I'm currently scanning my computer with AVG and Malwarebyte.
And secondarily, if my account was not compromised, why was I banned? The only thing I can come up with is that during the past several days I have seen characters log on and just dump their whole inventories for 50-60% of market price. Of course I buy them. I mean what player would not.
Even if these players were gold sellers, what rules have I broken? I exchanged in-game gold for in-game items. Is it against the ToS to unknowingly purchase items at a steep discount from gold sellers? I'll admit I started to suspect after I bought from a few of these guys, but come on, when someone sells Primordial Saronite/crusader orbs/etc. at a huge discount who wouldn't buy it? If I didn't buy it, someone else would have. It should not be the player's responsibility to verify that everytime they get a discount they're not dealing with a gold farmer.
