what is blizzard going to do about this?

my account was whiped, all of my 80s stripped dry, lowbies same thing.... the guild i was gm of ditto...they then banned my account...ironically after my account was "banned" the "hacker" logged in on my 80 and ran dungeons---how'd they do this?

i followed the "pathways" to reclaim control of my account but they have still failed to even acknowlege the account closure/ban....they traced the hacker to "overseas" but yet I STILL DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT......no keyloggers, malware, etc were found on my comp...no information was ever given to anyone...i only use curse client downloader......

the hacker also accessed my debit card information and used it for over $500 in unauthorized purchases....

tell me.. when will blizzard STOP enabling hackers and start supporting legit players who pay their own money....

i did nothing wrong and yet i cannot play and now i'm tied up in fiscal tediousness with my bank....i have already lost out on gear, achs in icc....stop delaying bliz and start doing your jobs.....

when this trial ends, if my original account has still yet to even be restored, i may consider legal actions....

Q u o t e:
final note, seems like you need to re-read my post as i stated i followed the "steps" posed by blizzard to ensure the safety of my computer... as aforementioned---seriously read, eh? my computer was not compromised by my end----so....now what?

i find it HYSTERICAL that the person who owns the account is "always" blamed for the hackers... not the people who are entrusted to guard our privacy....nor the hackers for doing it...

my comp was not compromised....used all of the "programs" emailed to me by the blizzard customer service rep... NOTHING... here i will repeat it in case you missed the big letters... NOTHING.... was found on my comp....

so again, i pose the question, when is this going to seriously be addressed?

Our staff are more than happy to help if you've reported this situation appropriately. I would like to point something crucial out though. In fact, I've posted in a couple of other threads on the subject of finding an intrusion just today:

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=25026395119&postId=250240034071&sid=1#32

The important point I am getting to is that if your account was compromised as a result of a phishing attempt, then you will naturally not find a keylogger on your system. If your account was compromised as a result of account sharing, similarly you may not find a means of ingress on your system. If you logged into an infected system outside of your normal routine, then there will be no trace on your home PC. There are many ways to be compromised which do not leave traces. That also doesn't even take into account how elusive some keyloggers really are - if you do not run the appropriate scans with your World of Warcraft client open and gibberish entered into the text fields, they may not show up.

So, to sum up: merely because you have not found something on your system, does not mean that the compromise was on our end. On the contrary, it is vital to the future security of your account to accept - even if this compromise was ultimately the 'fault' of those who actually compromised your account - that the vulnerability in your account's security rests somewhere within your domain. Casting blame elsewhere will certainly not encourage such steps.

All of that aside, I might be in a position to furnish more information to you regarding the progress of your investigation, if you can tell me the name and realm of a character on the compromised account.

No worries, Kawaii. I hope you had a chance to read the rest of my message as well - as I mentioned, account sharing or logging in from potentially unsecured systems is a good way to get one's account compromised =(.

It does appear that an initial investigation has been started on your account. Based on current wait times, it isn't unreasonable to expect the results of your investigation in about a week - though this is a very rough estimate and more time may be necessary. I'd also like to reassure you that, while no restoration is ever guaranteed, our staff do everything they can to help you make a complete recovery.

If you haven't already, this might be a good time to visit our sticky regarding account compromise for informative articles on the subject as well:

It's probably a good idea to move the discussion regarding potential detection methods for account compromise to a Suggestions forum post. I'd prefer to keep this thread focused on Kawaii's recovery process.
