Hello everyone,

I received a message from a person stating I had done an illegal game currency transfer and that I needed to check my account. This came as a whisper from someone named blizz***** i wont name the name in case its real. Do blizzard employees use names like that to whisper sensitive account information on the server? Also what is an illegal currency transfer, certainly it isn't illegal to send a friend gold to buy a mount is it?

Thanks for any feedback

Q u o t e:
I wasn't able to report the name as spam before the general chatbox in Stormwind ran out of room and forced the text down. But I did write everything down (because I'm cranky like that and this kind of stuff drives me up the wall)

I wrote down the full name of the toon that was used. Is there a way for me to report the name of the toon who whispered me since I couldn't catch it in the chatbox?

You can, but chances are very good it was reported - and the toon subsequently deleted.

I wouldn't worry over this one over-much. This is one thing stolen accounts are often used for.

In the future, any tells like that - right-click their name - use the Report Spam option from the popup and it's quick and easy :)

Remember - if WE contact you - there will ALWAYS be a blue Blizzard logo associated with our name - or any email from us. Anything else is a scam.
