Upgrading a US Trial account in Europe

So I have finally convinced my wife to start playing.

Ive referred her and setup a new US trial account for her which is working perfectly. Im now trying to perform an online upgrade of the account, but im getting the error 202 when processing the upgrade.

From reading the forums, the quick solution as I see it is to go out and buy a retail box. Now, that wouldn't be a problem if I was at home, but we are currently located in Europe for the foreseeable future.

Does anyone know if I can upgrade a US trial account using a European retail box key?

Unfortunately, authentication keys are region specific and cannot be used to upgrade accounts in different regions. If you are receiving the Error 202 message, please make sure that the address tied to your credit card and World of Warcraft/Battle.net account are completely up-to-date. If there are any discrepancies the card may be automatically declined.
