I'd like to reassure you that we're not out to blame everything on 'your end' and that our staff are really just doing everything they can to help. There are specific issues our staff are able to respond to more swiftly, such as petitions regarding stuck characters, for example.
The reason why a Game Master might request that you perform a User Interface Reset, is because (believe it or not) a great many issues are indeed caused by corrupt game files or out of date Addons. Since corrupt game files can be a culprit, these steps often prove useful even when no Addons are installed.
Obviously, some issues are realm based, but client side issues can be a contributing factor. Asking one of our players to perform those steps is a first-step troubleshooting measure which helps eliminate possible causes. It's worth mentioning that periodic full UI resets can help prevent a character from becoming 'stuck' at all.
