Weekly realm maintenance

Does Blizzard intend to reduce the frequency of realm maintenance at any point in the future?

I certainly understand the need to reboot the servers and clean up stuff on the back-end from time to time. With a massive game like this, I'm sure things get pretty messy. But six hours or so every week seems a bit excessive (translates into about 3.5% total downtime), especially after so many years of optimizations and opportunities to improve the infrastructure.

I don't mean to complain or whine about not being able to play for a few hours every Tuesday. Again, I'm just curious whether it's in Blizzard's plans to eventually move to a less frequent realm maintenance schedule.

Thanks very much!

Actually, maintenance doesn't necessarily occur every week and there are frequent occurrences where rolling restarts are employed instead because a full maintenance cycle is not yet deemed necessary. There are no plans to reduce the frequency of maintenance though, and we'll continue to perform it as necessary in an effort to keep all realms running as smoothly as possible.
