Hacked Account. Can't log in

Hi,

I got home the other night and tried to log into wow. I realised that my account has hacked and the hacker has added an Authenticator to my account. I got an e-mail from blizzard saying that my account may have been compromised and they are allowing me to reset my password. I have now reset the password but still can't log into wow, battle.net account or account management on the world of warcraft site due to the hacker adding an Authenticator. I'm not sure what to do. I installed AVG anti-virus scanner and spybot to look for anything on my computer but both scans came back with nothing. I have no idea how they could have gotten my password. I am in need of some help. I think I need to create a new e-mail account and use that for wow and battle.net. but can't do any of that yet due to Authenticator which is not mine.

I was also wondering what can be done about lost gear and gold? I looked at armory and all gear on all my toons is gone

This has been put into process, and the authenticator was removed. When was the last time you checked this, Jpd? It's also normal in a compromise situation for the password to be reset from our end, you'll want to check for that in your email.

As mentioned above, it's vital to find the source of this to prevent a recurrence.

well i assumed the authenticator was still active because I still have the option to input an authenticator code in my log in screen. I didn't know that it was disabled until about 20 minutes ago and was able to log in. If I buy an Authenticator for myself can I just go to battle.net and click the option to add authenticator and it will work straight away? I'm really sorry for all the e-mails :(

There are two types of authenticators - the keyfob which will be shipped, or the mobile version if you happen to have a supported device.

After you either download and install the mobile app - or receive the keyfob, you go to your Account Management page to enter the serial number and actually place it on the account.

After that, you'll need the generated code when you log in.
