3 hour suspension and password reset

i get a email on my phone a couple hrs after i got off my computer and it says

Account Action: 3 hour suspension and password reset
Reason for Action: In-Game Chat Policy Violation - Advertisement and Spamming
This suspension happened because a character on the account above repeatedly
abused World of Warcraft's in-game chat system. This abuse includes advertising
third party services/websites and repeatedly spamming in-game chat channels.

i know i was not spamming any thing so i changed my password and waited till i could log in and i checked my account and every thing was how a left it so it didn't look like any one had hacked my account. in fact my main char was in mid flight light i had left him and he was the last char to be on.

Taz - unless you are moonlighting as a Gold Spammer advertiser - your account WAS....that's what happened here.

I'd recommend you immediately scan your system for malware. Just because they didn't touch your gear or gold is not necessarily a guarantee there was no entry into your account.

I'd also strongly recommend adding another layer of security and look into one of the authenticators to help protect your account.
