Character Restoration Process

I'm currently in the process of getting my character restored- and i'll admit, I'm a bit worried. I've heard horror stories of people not getting anything back, getting half your gear back, or just random stuff. What i would like to know, and understand more is.. How does Blizzard go through logs to see what you had, What can affect those logs, [to not receive items, missing items, ect.] and what can i do personally to help the process along? It's been four days since i contacted account/billing. Not really expecting anything today, [doubt they're open actively on Sunday.] and I'm aware of the gigantic queue. I'm just curious what the average wait time is this week. :)

-I've made a trial account to post this, due to my main account being unable to post. [Assuming because of all this hullabaloo.]

While I am not going to be able to go into too much detail regarding our log searches, Wahatts, I can tell you that when we are looking at a compromised account, we try to verify any transactions that were made during that period and reverse them. In addition to that, we will seek to repair any damage that was done while the account was compromised.

Things you can do, or rather not do in this case, would be to transfer your character (or use any other paid services) until you receive your results from the investigation. While you are welcome to continue playing the character(s), using any of the paid services can have a potential of interfering with the restoration process.

As for the time frame: I can assure you that we have representatives in each of our Support Departments seven days a week. That being said, I believe restoration times are running roughly 5 days, after they have been forwarded up. This is only based off of the information available to me, and is by no means a guarantee of the timeframe your restoration may take. Please understand that each investigation is different, so individual investigations may take more or less time than that. Also, the wait for a completed investigation can fluctuate substantially based on the number of requests submitted to the queue in a given period of time.
