Account suspended?

So yesterday a friend of mine was suspended due to blizzards bullcrap. They suspended him due to explotation. His offense was farming frostweave cloth. He had so many kills on his druid in an hour that he was suspended. He was not botting, he wasn't having someone else farm for him, he was not buying/selling gold for real life cash. His offense was simply farming for cloth. He and I both spoke to blizzard last night via three way calling. I heard everything that was told to him.

This is <removed>. The botters and or gold farmers can do anything they want to do. I myself have turned in at least 5 botters in the last week. And instead of being rewarded for that we've been punished.

I know he wasn't botting because I and another character were there with him while he was farming. God only knows our accounts may be next. We pay to play a game that we can't even go kill monsters for fear of being suspended or banned.

Hey blizzard here's an idea. Instead of running a program that compares kills per hour. Why don't you have a gm online when someone reports botting you can go your lazy butts out there to see if they are botting.

Seriously the game is getting stupid anyway. Why the hell would we continue to pay 15 a month for something that keeps being made less fun by blizzard's stupidity?

First, profanity of any kind, masked or otherwise, is prohibited on the World of Warcraft forums. Please refrain from any further profanity while posting.

I sounds like there might be some confusion here. There is nothing in any message we send to an account that has been suspended which provides that kind of detail you describe, and we are not in the habit of suspending our players for legitimate activities - thus you may not have an accurate picture of this situation.

I'd be happy to look into this further and provide what I can in the way of insight - but given that this is another player's account, there is little that I can reveal publicly. I should be able to provide some guidance regarding your friend's next step though.

Do you have the name and realm of a character on the affected account? That should give me the tools I need to investigate further.

Thats is everything that they have told me over the phone. His char name is Waynez the last one he was on the realm is Archimonde we have alrdy sent an email to billing but we have been told it might not even get seen until the suspension is lifted

Thank you for the information!

It's possible that there may have been a misunderstanding in this case, but the only method for the situation to be reviewed appropriately would be for your friend to send an email to [email protected] from his account's registered email address.

I wish him luck on a swift resolution.

I have had this problem before. Sadly it took me getting into vent and asking my current guild leader to ticket the item for me. He did with his usual take no prisoners attitude and they restored my account. Calling and emailing did nothing. The most sure way to get this taken care of is what you just did, which is make a scene. Kudos to you.

I'm not sure how this post could be more incorrect. A "take no prisoners" attitude is completely meaningless with regard to whether an account action is overturned, nor is it the best stance to take when contacting our departments, nor is a telephone call one of the valid points of contact for such an endeavor.

All that matters is what is determined when our Account Administration staff review the account, as they are the final arbiters regarding an account's status. On that note, the only method for an account suspension to be appropriately contested is via email with our Account Administration team at [email protected].

First you either can't read or don't bother to. My friend was on the phone with them, I was on the second line with my phone muted listening to this stuff. And again his email address is in my post so feel free to email him.

Actually, I removed your friend's email as revealing that information can represent a security risk. I removed the Account Services representatives email as well, since posting such an email can represent a violation of the forum code of conduct.

I also want to clarify that legitimate activities do not typically or even commonly lead to this kind of situation. We prefer to avoid ever taking action against an innocent player, but errors do happen occasionally. That is part of the reason why the Account Administration department exists - to preside over and provide recourse in the event that such an error occurs.

Moreover - our conversation here does not indicate that nothing untoward occurred. We do not take action against an account lightly, and there may be much more going on than you are aware of. Regardless, the only method that this situation to be fully resolved is via contact with our Account Administration team. Further discussion here is immaterial.

It wasn't my friends email you removed. It was the blizzard employee that we spoke to on the phone last night. I removed my friend's email.

Furthermore, I am done with this discussion. To me it doesn't matter if the majority of people do belive it or not. It is the truth and might save someone else from paying for something they cannot use due to no fault of thier own.

I understand that you believe your intentions to be pure. Please be aware that this situation is very likely far more complex than you are aware, and that the warning you want to provide simply isn't accurate. Thousands of players happily farm every day without incident, and we do not take action against an account in the absence of evidence.

Q u o t e:
If the person on the phone lied to us last night, that's something that blizzard can deal with. I posted here what we were told on the phone last night. If it's something blizzard wants to deal with then they can do so, if they don't then they won't. I find it rediculous that someone who's been playing this game and paying for it off and on for 2 years and has never ever had any issues with ToS before decided after playing for this long to take the risk. I was told that farming can cause your account to be suspended on suspicion for botting. If this isn't the truth then blizzard has a way of finding out. Like I have stated they record phone conversations for use of quality assurance and can pull up the phone logs and see who it was we were speaking to last night and that the same person emailed us with his own email because he said he wanted to help my friend.

If your friend wishes to provide feedback regarding the contact you've had with a member of our Account Services staff, often a survey will be sent in the wake of the conversation to the registered email address of the caller. Alternatively, email may be sent to [email protected] with ATTN: Supervisor in the title.
