So, it's been 2 and a half weeks now...

So, almost 3 weeks ago, my account got hacked.

Everything from the Guild Bank and all of my toons was taken, and then deleted. An authenticator was added onto my account.

Yeah, it sucks.

Anyway, I contact Blizzard. After 3 days, I get a response saying, "They'll look into it". A couple days later, I'm allowed my account again! Woohoo! I get an email saying "we're glad we can fix the problem", which confused me because none of my stuff was back.

So, as I wait for the "investigation" to be completed, I start up an alt, a warlock. And one day, I try logging on and it says, "Authenticator Code" and the entry thing.

Christ........

So, I go to my email, and lo and behold, there's an email saying my account has been deleted. Oh, lovely. This was last Thursday, by the way.

So, today, I got on my email, and it says that all of my toons have been restored!!!!

What?

First off, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!? Do I have an account, do I not? Can this authenticator PLEASE get taken off?

Second, how the hell are the hackers getting to me still? I changed my password, and checked for viruses. And now I'm being told that the account in question isn't registered to the email I gave? Like hell it isn't! And now I have to:

"1. Contact our Billing Department to verify the account information.
You may only contact the Billing Department through the numbers listed below.
- U.S. Customers: 1-800-592-5499"

I've tried that. Many times. Over the last 2 weeks. Haven't gotten through ONCE.

"2. Submit a valid government issued ID with a properly filled account retrieval
form.
You may download the retrieval form here:
http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/WoW/other/Account-Recovery.pdf"

I know I own my account. I shouldn't need to do this, but if push comes to shove and I can get my actual account back, then so be it.

BTW, this was the last email sent I sent, other than the one saying "You guys just closed my account..."

Hello Blizzard.

So, my account was restored a few days ago. Lovely, except for the fact that
none of my characters were returned.

I received an email today asking about Kalriss, (the GM in charge of the
investigation), and about how he did. I'm tempted to answer it with some lovely
stuff about how nothing was fixed, when I thought that maybe something had been
fixed.

So, I go to log onto WoW, and there is an authenticator on my account again. I
still haven't bought an authenticator.

Blizzard, please, get this done. I've sat on Greymane for the past 2 days,
waiting for an in-game GM to finally respond to my ticket. I've changed my
password. I've scanned my computer.

I'm sorry to keep bugging you guys, but this is now week 2 without an account.
I've done everything you guys wanted me to do. Can I get my characters back, can
my guild get it's stuff back? Because I would hate for this to wind up ending
what has been a wonderful time spent on this game.

This was the day before the emails about how my account was closed. And two days before I was told my stuff was returned.

I'd REALLY like to play again, though a stack of BioWare games has been keeping me entertained since my account troubles began. Yes, that was rather thinly veiled, wasn't it?

Hey there, Flame.

Unfortunately, one side effect of being compromised is the possibility of having the malicious party abuse our policies while on your account. While you may be suspended, we will likely not hold you accountable for these actions and will do our best to restore access to the account once you've notified us of the compromise. Typically, you do this by e-mailing [email protected]; however, it appears that the Investigator assigned to your account may have already helped in this regard.

It sounds as if all that is left to do is to have the Authenticator removed from your account. To do this, you will either need to call our Billing Department or you will need to create a post on the Technical Support Forum (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?forumId=11110&sid=1) to notify them that you have secured the computer and need the Authenticator removed so that you may access it once more. Billing can be reached using one of the following numbers:
