So it says my friend is linked to my account (the one I'm currently posting on), and it shows that he upgraded to a standard account. He told me himself that he bought three months of play time; yet, it's not letting me claim my rocket mount award. I'm not exactly sure what's going on.

Yes, Hathor! The difference between credit cards and game cards/prepaid game time is that the former of the two is added when there is no more game time available on the account, and the latter is added instantly. So, even though your friend may have added a credit card to their account, he will not be charged until the ten day trial is over with, then the thirty “free” days of play, that he gains from upgrading his account, are used up.
